Friulano Amphora (2019)

This skin-contact Friulano has been aged in terracotta amphora for around one year, an old-world technique that gives this wine a great complexity while maintaining moderate acidity, freshness and fruit. At the end of the decanting, the must is put back in amphora. The wine will then remain for about 8-9 months in amphora. Bottling will follow and then a period of bottle aging for at least one year before selling.

  Tasting notes: Intense straw yellow in color with light green reflections. The nose hints of apple and white flowers. The taste is dry, fruity and with moderate acidity.

• The market is finally ready for a 100% Cabernet Franc! The beauty of this grape is it takes on the characteristics of the territory it is grown in. While we may be accustomed to Cabernet Franc from California or France, the production coming out of North Eastern Italy creates a whole other experience.
  
  This certified organic Cabernet Franc from Castelvecchio is highly elegant and deliciously drinkable. The initial famous ruby color melts with time into silken aristocratic reflections. The bouquet maintains the herbaceous fragrance of the wooden barrel even in the bottle. The taste is generous, velvety, and spicy.

  Grape variety: 100% Cabernet Franc
  Harvesting: First half of October
  Fermentation and refinery: Fermentation with maceration in stainless steel for approximately 15 days. After the first 4 months in stainless steel to complete the malolactic fermentation, the wine is left for a year in small French and Californian oak barrels (barriques). Followed by a year in barrique in larger Slavonian and French oak barrels (tonneau). The wine ages in the bottle for a further six months before being released on the market.

  Tasting notes: Ruby red with aristocratic almost silky reflexes. The bouquet maintains a certain herbaceous fragrance accentuated by the wooden permanence that gives a spicy note. There is also a pleasant mineral note indicative of the Karst terroir. On the palate, it is full, velvety, and spicy with long persistence.

• This is the Ferrari of all rosè. With secondary in-bottle fermentation, a hand-selected mix of the best grapes of each varietal (Chardonnay, Pinot Nero, Pinot Bianco), and the powerhouse of sparkling winemakers from Pittaro winery, this rosè is definitely not your average sparkling wine.

  Harvesting: By hand
  Fermentation and refinery: The first fermentation of Chardonnay and Pinot Bianco takes place in steel, while for Pinot Noir there is a very short stop on the skins to add body and the beautiful color. All varietals are then refined for a few months on the lees before combination and bottling where the second fundamental fermentation takes place. The subsequent stop of the wine in contact with the yeasts requires a minimum duration of 24 months. The disgorgement and a small addition of liqueur d'expedition close the production cycle and the bottles, after a few months' rest in the cellar, are ready to be tasted.
  Storage Suggestion: Always keep the bottles lying down, in a cool and dark place, putting them in the fridge only for the time necessary to bring them to temperature. To serve it correctly, tilt the bottle to a 45° angle and remove the cork slowly, gently venting the gas without making a sound.
  Alcohol: 13.0%
  Temperature for Serving: Ice Cold! 4-6°C
  Tasting notes: Soft pink color with a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose the yeast notes are well pronounced, the fruit aromas are more delicate, be they red, dried, or tropical. The taste is fresh, well-structured, and harmonious.

• The freshness of the native Ribolla Gialla varietal is maintained in this pet-nat style sparkling wine by San Lurins. Rather than undergoing a second fermentation in the bottle like the Malvasia Istriana, this wine is bottled just before the first fermentation ends, resulting in a lightly sparkling and constantly evolving wine.
  
  Notes of citrus fruits and thyme dance along the fine bubbles in this wine. It's excellent as an aperitif and a perfect pair with creamy fresh cheese, appetizers, and lightly fried fish.

  Fermentation and refinery: The whole bunches are collected and directly subjected to soft pressing; only the first-pressed must (about 50%) will be used to produce our fermented wine. The must is cold decanted for about 12-15 hours and then fermented at a controlled temperature. Close to the end of alcoholic fermentation when just a small amount of sugars remain, the wine is bottled. The bottles rest lying down at least 12 months before release.

• Pignolo means "finicky" in Italian and this wine is rare due to the difficulty in growing these finicky grapes. But the effort is worth it! This wine is powerful, with a full body and a backbone loaded with well-ripened and quality tannins. An outstanding wine, this Pignolo stands up to any beautiful meal.
  
  In a region famous for its whites, Michele Moschioni has been daring enough for the past 40 years to only make reds. A pupil of the godfather of Amarone, Giuseppe Quintarelli, Moschioni's reds are legendary.

• In the Friulian language, "real," means true; this wine is so called because 50% of the grapes are the Friulian native varietal Tazzelenghe. Tazzelenghe means "tongue cutter" due to its fantastic acidity and is rather difficult to tame, a bit like the land in which it is born.
  
  Since 1989, Michele Moschioni has devoted himself to the production of red wines in a territory famous and known in the world for the quality of its white wines. Michele does it because he wants to enhance these indigenous vines.

On the palate there is plenty of high but sweet tannin hiding beneath the fruit. Very pleasant herbaceous ending of mint.

• A blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, Rosso Celtico is a new take on a classic. A full-bodied wine with sweet tannins and plenty of extract to balance out the whole structure. It is juicy and rich with a surprising lush style.
  
  In a region famous for its whites, Michele Moschioni has been daring enough for the past 40 years to only make reds. A pupil of the godfather of Amarone, Giuseppe Quintarelli, Moschioni's red wines are legendary.
